Mary Overhill gives a wonderful interview about her life with the WAAF. As a Devonian, country girl, the war provided opportunities and experiences that she still recalls with great clarity. Her story takes her from the west Country to the West end of London where she was based in an of-fice (next door to Churchill’s map room) and typed secret documents concerning the progress of the war. These were then circulated to senior members of the Cabinet.
