Ronald Pickersgill was a National Serviceman stationed in Wunstorf Germany when the Russians blockaded the city of Berlin. Within weeks he had moved to Gatow airport where he was tracking aircraft movements from the control tower. At the time Gatow was the world’s busiest airport and Ronald had a birds eye view of the comings and goings.
