Never settled down post-war. The first 3 years of the war were very rugged and took their toll on people - couple excellent fighter pilot squadron leaders he knew became alcoholics and died from it. Flew with many famous British pilots such as Stanford Tuck, Jamie Rankin and Sailor Milan. After Malta did a stint as a test pilot testing Typhoons in Gloucestershire - loved it. Flew in the backseat of a Spitfire a few months back in 2012 - took control of the plane himself and 'felt like he had never been away from it, felt like a young man again' Describes himself as a 'very very fortunate man to have experiences what he did and to have survived'.
